Chapter 6 - Judgment in the Rain

"You didn't save the family, Valerio," Dante said, his eyes filled with a terrifying, ancient rage. "You broke it."

Valerio pulled his chrome pistol and aimed it directly at Dante’s chest!

FLASH!

Before Valerio could pull the trigger, a sniper round shattered the glass high above the foundry, tearing through Valerio’s wrist! His gun clattered to the ground, splashing in a puddle of rainwater and oil!

Valerio screamed in agony, clutching his bleeding arm.

Dominic and twenty elite Moretti guards poured through the side entrances, subduing Valerio's loyalists in seconds without firing another shot.

Dante walked up to Valerio, stepping on his hand as the traitor lay groveling on the cold floor.

"Please... Dante... we were brothers! Your father trusted me!" Valerio begged, sobbing in fear.

Dante crouched down, grabbing Valerio by the lapels of his expensive suit and lifting him off the ground effortlessly.

"My father trusted a snake," Dante whispered into his ear. "And snakes are put down."

Dante didn't shoot him. That would have been too merciful.

"Dominic," Dante commanded, tossing Valerio back onto the concrete. "Deliver him to the federal prosecutor's office downtown. Along with the full ledger of Falcone wire transfers, drug smuggling routes, and political bribes."

Valerio's eyes widened in horror. "No! Dante, no! The Falcones will kill me in prison! The feds will lock me away forever!"

"That's the point," Dante said coldly, turning his back on him. "You wanted power through documents and betrayal. Now you can die slowly behind iron bars."
