Chapter 10 - The Garden of Light

Four years later.
The Moretti estate was bathed in the warm, golden glow of a midsummer sunset.
The gardens were lush and vibrant, filled with red roses, white hydrangeas, and tall green weeping willows shading the manicured lawns.
A large grand marquee was set up near the terrace, where a charity gala for the Elena Carter Children's Hospital was being hosted. Hundreds of guests—prominent doctors, philanthropists, community leaders, and local families—were gathered, enjoying food, music, and celebration.
Dante Moretti stood near the edge of the terrace, wearing a perfectly fitted navy suit, holding a glass of sparkling water.
He looked older, distinguished, but his eyes were clear, peaceful, and filled with quiet strength.
Clara Sterling—now a close family friend and legal advisor to the foundation—walked up to him, smiling warmly.
"The gala raised three million dollars tonight, Vincent," Clara said, handing him an event summary. "The new pediatric wing in Queens will begin construction next month."
"Thank you, Clara," Dante smiled softly. "Elena would have been proud."
From across the lawn, the sound of joyous laughter drifted over the breeze.
Dante looked over to see seven-year-old Lily, dressed in a beautiful white lace dress, running across the grass with a group of children, playing tag under the setting sun.
Sarah walked beside her, laughing, carrying a tray of cupcakes for the kids.
Lily caught her father’s eye, stopped playing, and waved at him with a giant, radiant smile. The silver swallow necklace around her neck caught the golden sunlight, shimmering brilliantly like a beacon of hope.
Dante waved back, his heart full, complete, and whole.
He looked up at the evening sky, watching a flock of birds fly gracefully across the horizon toward the ocean.

He had walked through the deepest darkness, survived the fire of betrayal, and laid down his weapons of vengeance.
And in return, he had been granted the greatest gift of all: a second chance at love, family, and a life lived in the light.
