Chapter 6 - Strategy in the Dark

With the truth laid bare, the dynamic within the Moretti estate shifted irreversibly. The cold fury that had driven my desire for swift vengeance was replaced by a clinical, razor-sharp tactical focus. In reality, he plans to present fabricated evidence to the elders claiming I have compromised our syndicate operations.”
Isabella wiped her tears, her innate resilience returning as she stood up beside me. “He has bribed three of the senior elders—Moreno, Rossi, and De Luca. They will vote to strip you of your leadership and transfer operational control to Victor.”
“Let them try,” I replied, a cold, dangerous smile touching the corners of my lips. “A trap only works if the prey walks into it willingly. We are going to let Victor build his stage. And when the curtain rises tomorrow night, the entire house of cards will collapse on top of him.”
