Chapter 8 - The Cleansing of Boston

Dominic knew he had lost. His entire network across the East Coast had been dismantled in less than seventy-two hours by Roman’s lightning strikes.

“What do you want, Roman?” Dominic spat, sweat dripping from his forehead despite the freezing air. “Money? The docks? Take them! Just let me take my boat and leave!”

Roman looked down at the old mobster with cold disdain.

“Five years ago, you sent bombers to my home while my wife was pregnant,” Roman said softly. “You forced her to raise our child in poverty.”

Roman turned to Gabriel.

“The federal prosecutor’s office has received the complete digital logs of Dominic Moretti’s forty years of murders, drug trafficking, and corruption,” Roman announced.

Sirens wailed in the distance—dozens of federal law enforcement vehicles rushing toward Pier 42 with searchlights flashing through the heavy fog.

“You’re giving me to the feds?!” Dominic yelled, shocked that a Mafia boss would use the law.

“I don't need to kill you to destroy you, Dominic,” Roman said, turning his back on his old enemy. “You will spend the rest of your life in a small concrete cell, watching my family thrive from a television screen.”

Federal agents flooded the warehouse, slapping heavy steel handcuffs onto Dominic Moretti and dragging him out into the rain.
