Chapter 10 - The Blooming of the White Rose

Spring arrived in Boston five months later.

The gardens behind the Valente estate were filled with rows of brilliant white roses, purple lavender, and fresh green grass.

In the center of the garden, beside a stone fountain, sat a long wooden table set for a quiet family afternoon.

Gabriel and the senior members of the syndicate—now fully transitioned into legitimate shipping and legal security enterprises—sat around the table, enjoying glasses of sparkling wine and laughing together in the sun.

Noah was running across the lawn with a new golden retriever puppy, his happy laughter ringing out across the quiet grounds.

Roman stood on the stone patio overlooking the garden, holding Grace’s hand in his.

She looked radiant, her dark hair blowing softly in the spring breeze, her hand resting over a small, gentle curve beneath her dress—they were expecting their second child in the autumn.

Noah ran up the stone steps, panting with a big grin, holding a perfect, freshly picked white rose without any thorns.

“Daddy! Look!” Noah cheered, holding the rose up to Roman. “I picked the best one for you!”

Roman dropped to one knee, taking the white rose from his son’s small hand.

He pulled Noah into a tight, warm embrace, holding both his wife and his son close to his heart as the bright spring sun warmed the estate.

Five years ago, a white rose in the snow had been a symbol of poverty, loss, and survival.

Today, it was a symbol of a family restored, an empire made clean, and a love that could never be destroyed by shadows.
