Chapter 10 - The Horizon

Months later, the city had settled into a new normal. The Cole name was whispered only as a cautionary tale of greed and hubris, a billionaire dynasty reduced to dust and federal indictments. Richard and Margaret Cole were awaiting trial in a federal penitentiary, while Vanessa Hart faced decades behind bars for embezzlement and fraud.

At the Moretti family estate, the sun was setting over the hills, painting the sky in deep shades of gold, violet, and crimson.

Elena stood on the private stone balcony, wrapped in a cashmere shawl, looking out over the sprawling vineyards and the distant city lights. The wind was cool, carrying the scent of autumn and fresh beginnings.

Footsteps approached softly from behind, and a heavy wool coat settled gently over her shoulders. Dominic stood beside her, resting his hands on the stone railing.

“Thinking about the past?” Dominic asked quietly.

“No,” Elena replied, taking a deep breath of the crisp evening air. “Thinking about the future.”

Matteo, Luca, Gabriel, and Nico stepped out onto the balcony, holding glasses of wine. Gabriel raised his glass toward the horizon.

“To new beginnings,” Gabriel toasted.

“To the Moretti family,” Nico added with a grin.

Elena raised her glass, clinking it against her brothers’. The nightmare of the Cole estate felt like a lifetime away now. She had walked into that ballroom three years ago as a quiet wife trying to fit into a world that didn't deserve her. She walked out of it as a Moretti—unbroken, unapologetic, and untouchable.

“Let’s raise a toast,” Elena said, her eyes gleaming with quiet power as she looked out at the city below. “To everyone who thought silence meant weakness.”

Her brothers laughed—a warm, grounded sound of absolute unity and unwavering protection.

The battle was over. The crown was claimed. And Elena Moretti was finally home.
