Chapter 10 - THE ARCHITECT’S HOME

One year later.

The sun was setting over a secluded coastal cliff, three miles north of the city harbor.

Perched atop the cliff stood a breathtaking modern home—a masterpiece of stone, glass, and warm wood, seamlessly integrated into the natural rock face. It had huge glass walls overlooking the ocean, private garden courtyards, and a sound design that allowed the gentle roar of the ocean waves to echo softly throughout the living spaces.

It was Sarah’s masterwork: her personal home, designed by her own hands, built on land owned by Valente Global.

In the private central courtyard, lit by soft fairy lights hanging from olive trees, a intimate gathering was underway.

Sarah’s family, her team from Kuri Studios, Don Mateo, and close friends sat around a long wooden table filled with Lebanese and Italian dishes—hummus, fresh flatbreads, handmade pasta, and roasted meats. Laughter and music filled the warm summer air.

Sarah stood on the outdoor terrace, wearing a simple white linen dress, watching her grandmother teach Don Mateo how to fold cathedral-peak napkins properly. The old Italian Don was laughing merrily, his awkward folds resulting in lopsided shapes that made everyone at the table burst into cheers.

A pair of strong arms wrapped around Sarah’s waist from behind.

Enzo pulled her gently against his chest, resting his jaw against her shoulder. He wore a crisp white linen shirt, completely relaxed, his eyes soft and content.

“They’ve been arguing about napkin folds for an hour,” Enzo murmured playfully into her ear.

Sarah giggled, resting her hands over his on her stomach. “Your uncle is terrible at it. My grandmother is going to make him practice until midnight.”

“Let him practice,” Enzo smiled, kissing her shoulder. “It keeps him out of trouble.”

Sarah turned around in his arms, resting her hands against his chest, looking up into his silver eyes. They were no longer cold or distant like the night they had met in the ballroom. They were bright, warm, and filled with deep peace.

“What are you thinking about?” Enzo asked softly, tracing his thumb along her lower lip.

“I was thinking about the night at the St. Jude ballroom,” Sarah confessed quietly. “When Dominic poured that wine on you... I thought my life was completely over. I thought everything I had built was going to crumble into pieces.”

Enzo looked down at her with infinite tenderness.

“And now?” Enzo whispered.

Sarah looked around at the beautiful home she had designed, at their families laughing together under the olive trees, at the endless ocean stretching out beneath the sunset sky, and finally back into the eyes of the man who loved her more than life itself.

“Now,” Sarah said, a radiant, breathtaking smile lighting up her face, “I know that sometimes the worst storms are just nature’s way of clearing space for a better foundation.”

Enzo smiled, leaning down to capture her lips in a soft, lingering kiss as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in glorious shades of gold, crimson, and purple.

Together, they stood on the solid rock they had built—unshakeable, untouchable, and deeply in love.
