Chapter 10 - A Landing to Remember

The jet came to a complete, shuddering halt at the international gate, the engines spooling down to a gentle whisper. The seatbelt signs chimed off, and the cabin buzzed with the gentle rustle of coats being retrieved and overhead bins opening.

Elizabeth Hart emerged from the cockpit, standing near the front galley as the main boarding door was unsealed and pulled open by ground staff. Before the general deplaning commenced, she walked straight to Row 2.

“Miss Coleman,” Elizabeth said, offering a formal, deeply respectful nod. “Thank you for flying with us today. It has been an absolute honor.”

“Thank you for everything, Captain,” Zara replied, slinging her small red travel bag over her shoulder. “You handled a very difficult situation with incredible professionalism.”

As Zara stepped out into the jet bridge, a small welcoming delegation of airline executives and local representatives stood waiting, their faces wreathed in respectful smiles. But more importantly, waiting just beyond the glass doors of the terminal was her father, arms open wide, a proud and loving smile on his face.

Zara walked briskly down the bridge, her sneakers clicking softly against the floor. She ran straight into her father’s embrace, breathing in the familiar comfort of home.

Behind her, deep within the terminal, news alerts were already buzzing across financial networks. Richard Bennett’s firm had just announced his immediate suspension pending an urgent internal ethics investigation, stripping him of his title and his authority.

Zara looked up at her father, smiling brightly as they walked side-by-side toward the arrivals hall. Justice had been served, the skies were clear, and she had proven once and for all that true class isn't about where you sit—it’s who you are when you stand your ground.
