Chapter 7 - Public Exposure and Social Backlash

Word of the settlement leaked to the local Silicon Valley tech blogs and social media channels by the end of the week.
The internet, as it often does, reacted with swift and merciless fury. The narrative of the "San Jose Wedding Sabotage" exploded across platforms. Netizens unearthed Brianna’s boutique salon Yelp page, flooding it with one-star reviews and images of the security footage stills showing Waylon shoving an elderly woman against a wall.
Brianna attempted to post an online video playing the victim, claiming she was being "bullied by a bitter ex-bride." But the backlash was instantaneous and overwhelming. Receipts of her text messages conspiring with Brandon were published online, destroying what remained of her social standing. Her salon lost its commercial lease within a month, and she was forced to close her doors permanently.

As for Brandon, his attempts to reach out to me through burner phones and social media accounts were systematically intercepted by my legal team and blocked. He sent one final, pathetic email confessing that he had made the biggest mistake of his life, begging for forgiveness, and claiming he finally realized what true love was.
I didn’t even bother to reply. I clicked Delete, emptied the trash folder, and permanently deleted his email address from my contacts. Some bridges aren't meant to be repaired; they are meant to be burned so brightly that they illuminate a brand new path forward.
