Chapter 6 - The Siege of the Estate

By evening, the luxurious Calder mansion had transformed into a fortress under internal siege. Marcus Vance had arrived uninvited under the guise of an executive review, accompanied by two dozen armed enforcers who quickly seized control of the perimeter exits.

Victor sat at the head of the main dining table once again, but this time, the room was packed with Marcus’s loyalists. Marcus himself stood at the opposite end, wearing a confident, predatory smirk.

"You're getting old, Victor," Marcus said smoothly, resting his hands on the back of a chair. "Getting sentimental over housekeeping staff and digging through dead files. It's distracting you from running the empire."

Victor did not flinch. He slowly poured a cup of espresso, ignoring the tension crackling in the air. "You always were impatient, Marcus. Eager to take the crown before you earned it."

"The crown belongs to whoever has the strength to hold it," Marcus snapped, signaling for his men to draw their weapons. "And right now, your loyalists are locked in the west wing. It's time for a transition."

Suddenly, the heavy mahogany double doors of the dining room blew open.

It wasn't Vincent or the security team. It was Vincent walking in with a digital tablet, flanked not by guards, but by a squad of cyber-forensics specialists loyal directly to Victor.

"You might want to check your offshore accounts, Marcus," Vincent announced loudly, slamming the tablet onto the center of the table. "The firewall just dropped."
