Chapter 10 - The Forever Anchor

One year later.

The summer sun was dipping below the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean, casting a warm, golden trail across the calm blue water.

On the private beach below the ocean estate, a small, beautiful wedding ceremony was taking place.

There were no high-society cameras, no corporate executives, and no bodyguards in suits. Just close friends from the coastal town, Patty from the diner, and the people who truly mattered.

A simple wooden altar decorated with white lace and beach wild roses stood near the shoreline.

Damian stood at the altar, wearing a tailored navy suit, watching the wooden stairs leading down from the house.

The music began to play gently on an acoustic guitar.

Maya walked down the sandy aisle first, throwing pink rose petals onto the sand with a huge, happy grin on her face.

Then came Elena.

She wore a breathtaking, simple white silk gown that flowed around her in the ocean breeze. She looked as young and vibrant as the day Damian had first met her eight years ago in a college library—but her eyes carried the deep, unbreakable strength of a woman who had survived the storm and brought her family home.

When she reached the altar, Damian took both of her hands in his.

"Elena," Damian said, his voice filled with a deep, unwavering devotion. "Seven years ago, I lost my anchor in the dark. Tonight, I promise to spend the rest of my life making sure you and Maya never feel the cold rain again."

Elena smiled through happy tears, holding his hands tight.

"Damian," she replied softly. "You walked into my diner on the worst night of my life and gave me back my heart. I am home."

The minister smiled, holding out his hands over them. "By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Damian pulled Elena into his arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her deeply under the golden twilight sky, while Maya cheered and tossed her remaining rose petals into the air.

Hand in hand, the three of them walked along the shoreline, their footprints pressed firmly into the warm sand, washed over by the gentle tide of a brand new beginning.
