Chapter 16 - The Truth Unveiled

Caleb completely collapsed, his knees buckling onto the cold hardwood floor as he buried his face in his hands and sobbed like an abandoned child.
"Big sister... I was wrong. I am deeply, truly sorry. Every single mistake is my fault for being foolish, for being blind and listening to that witch Bianca and her family... I swear I'll break up with her immediately, cut off all ties completely! Please save my startup company, otherwise, I'll go completely bankrupt and face criminal investigation!"
I looked down at my own younger brother—someone I had once spoiled and protected unconditionally—now kneeling prostrate at my feet begging for mercy. Inside my chest, everything was entirely hollow; not a single trace of lingering anger or pity remained.
"Caleb, have you ever wondered where the money you've been arrogantly squandering actually came from?" I stepped closer to him, slowly pronouncing each word with absolute clarity. "Five years ago, when our parents suddenly passed away leaving behind a mountain of crushing debt, who put all her youth and study-abroad dreams on hold to toil day and night in the ruthless business world? Who shed blood, sweat, and tears to earn every single dollar of capital so you could have the opportunity to get an education and build a career?"
Caleb raised his tear-stained face to look at me, his lips trembling silently, unable to form a single coherent sentence.
"It was me," I continued, my voice steady yet sharp enough to pierce his soul. "And how did you repay that sacrifice? You treated my grueling hard labor as an entitlement, taking my hard-earned money to fund your superficial vanity. And when your fiancée cruelly humiliated me, you stood right there and watched like an indifferent spectator."

I turned my gaze toward Denise, who stood frozen in the corner of the room, her face drained of every drop of color.
"You both always loved using fake power to oppress and humiliate others, loving nothing more than standing at the peak to look down on those at the bottom. Today, I simply helped you taste what it feels like to fall straight down into the abyss."
